13-day fundraising challenge

June 5th 2020 - June 18th 2020

Today we are raising our voices and standing against a legacy of police brutality that has resulted in the unjustified harm and deaths of unarmed and law-abiding citizens in our nation.

In the wake of the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the countless other lives lost to police brutality, the Colgate Student Coalition is working to condemn police brutality, racial profiling, and the excessive use of force. We have seen the national response as people, even in the midst of the pandemic, are protesting in the streets in support of Black lives.

Together, we are raising funds for the Chicago Community Bond Fund, Silicon Valley Democratic Socialists of America, Dallas Luke 4:18 Bail Fund, and NYC Liberty Fund. These organizations assist in the payment of bail nationwide for recently arrested civilian protesters.

Our hope is to raise 72k, the total cost of tuition, housing, meal plan, and student fees for one academic year at Colgate. Please consider supporting protestors by donating to our TouchNet page and sharing our message and mission.

An Important Note: The CSC wants to donate to groups that provide bail for protestors arrested for exercising their first amendment rights, speaking out against an oppressive system. Out of numerous organizations doing great work providing legal services to those fighting for all of us, the Chicago Community Bond Fund, Faith in Texas, Silicon Valley DSA, and The Liberty Fund were selected due to their designations as 501c3 non-profits.
