pledge to breonna Taylor
July 17th, 2020
The Colgate Student Coalition is calling Colgate students, parents, faculty, staff, and the community to participate in this pledge demanding action in the name of justice for Breonna Taylor. This pledge is asking participants to either call or email important persons who have the designated power to bring justice to Breonna Taylor and her wrongful death.
We are hoping to reach at least 2,994 verified pledges (number of Colgate students) in four days (number of months since her death). The Colgate Student Coalition started this initiative for Breonna Taylor because we know the Colgate community has the power and capacity to make meaningful change on campus and beyond. The Colgate community should not remain silent when speaking out against the wrongful deaths of Black citizens in America. We are asking you to stand up for Breonna Taylor.

I am calling on behalf of Breonna Taylor. We demand that John Mattingly, Detective Brett Hankison, and Detective Myles Cosgrove are fired immediately and charged with manslaughter and negligence. We demand justice for Breonna Taylor. You cannot shoot an innocent civilian and call it a "clerical error" -- we will not have it."
